Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace

London Highlights – a private tour

“When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life.”   Samuel Johnson, 1777.

This is a tour for first-time visitors, aiming to introduce you to the history, pageantry and life of this great city.

Depending on how long you’ve got, the tour will give you a good overview, and if you have all day, then we can include visits to Westminster Abbey and the Tower of London – or to anything else you would prefer.

London’s most famous sights include the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, Westminster Abbey, Whitehall, the Horseguards, 10 Downing Street, the Changing of the Guard at Buckingham Palace, Trafalgar Square, Piccadilly Circus, St Paul’s Cathedral, Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre, London Bridge, Tower Bridge and the Crown Jewels at the Tower of London.

The best way to see the sights is on foot, and using public transport – we’ll probably travel in a red London bus, on the Underground, in a black taxi, and maybe even in a boat. If you have personal reasons for requesting a tour by car, then of course it is possible – but the traffic can be challenging, and you may end up just seeing a traffic jam. If you choose a walking tour, we’ll make stops for a cup of tea or a glass of beer!

Walking tour fees are £200 for up to 4 hours, or £330 for up to 8 hours. For a tour by car, the fees are from £475 for up to 4 hours, and from £715 for up to 8 hours.
